Louise Peterson Sculpture
We are pleased to introduce you to an outstanding collection of Foundry Bronze sculptures from distinctive British artist Louise Peterson.
About artist Louise Peterson
Louise was born in Darlington and initially trained as a ballet dancer but when she moved to the USA her career was to take a very different path. She studied clay modelling at the Santa Monica College after which time a move to Colorado left her with only her much loved Great Dane as a model for her work. She began sculpting dogs and has never looked back.
Peterson shares her life with a Great Dane, five cats and her Nubian goats. She is a passionate lover of animals and they are certainly the principle focus of her work. Her cast bronze sculptures perfectly capture the bone structure, muscle, skin and movement of her wonderful subjects whilst also showcasing their whimsical characters. Peterson's appreciation of her animals shines out from every piece and she donates a portion of the proceeds of her sales to animal rescue charities.
Perhaps her former life as a dancer has helped inform Louise Peterson's work. She offers a wonderful understanding of both movement and anatomy together with an obvious gift for portraying the unique characteristics and great beauty of each animal and breed. Her sculptures certainly boast the grace of a classical dancer.
Lousie Peterson is a multi-award winning sculptor whose cast bronze work is classical, elegant and insightful but with a touch of humour in the mix. At Sculpture Gallery we are pleased to showcase a fine collection of Louise Peterson open edition pieces which animal lovers will adore. These affordable standing Louise Peterson sculptures would grace any home and are even more fabulous gifts for enthusiasts of the specific breeds that are brought to life in the works.
