Doug Hyde Sculptures

Bringing Doug Hyde’s amazing characters to life, his stunning and highly collectable sculptures are pieces which would grace any home. The cold cast porcelain sculptures reference favourite animated and science fiction characters. Amusing and whimsical, they possess a special quality that we are confident you will treasure. In short, Doug Hyde sculptures are not to be missed.

You could say that Doug Hyde is an accidental artist. He certainly enjoyed what can only be described as a meteoric rise to fame. He had never intended to sell his work which he had been creating purely for his own enjoyment and to decorate his home. It was when a friend begged him for a piece that everything changed. A friend of that friend was soon knocking on Doug’s door. Each piece that he subsequently sold inspired a friend or relative of the buyer to contact him.

Doug Hyde initially struggled to understand why his art was so in demand as he saw each piece as something very personal to him. But he came to realise that others shared his outlook on life and saw their feelings reflected in the paintings and sculptures. He now sells to enthusiasts and collectors all over the world.

It is incredible to think that in 2002, Doug Hyde’s art wasn’t known at all outside of his immediate circle. By 2005 he had won the coveted title of Best Selling Published Artist at the Fine Art Trade Guild awards. He was headline news that year when the BBC described him as the nation’s "most popular living artist". His limited editions always sell out and he believes his continued popularity is due to the fact that he crafts pieces which bring him pleasure. In other words, he is not trying to satisfy his customers, he is simply keeping it real.

We invite you to explore the fabulous work of an artist whose reputation continues to grow. The signed limited edition Doug Hyde Sculptures that we feature represent an excellent place to start in establishing a collection of Doug’s art. Memorable and humorous, the sculptures perfectly realise the vision of an artist who creations enjoy almost universal appeal.
