Jonathan Sanders Sculptures
About Jonathan Sanders Sculptures
Jonathan Sanders graduated in Fine Art at North Staffordshire University in the 1970s, and then began travelling extensively in East Africa. He was already deeply interested in the light and colour of the North Norfolk coast, but his travels across Africa lead to him developing a passion for wildlife too. Not only influenced by the animals, Sanders was inspired by the landscape in general, and by the African art and music in which he was able to immerse himself.
Artwork inspired by Africa
Jonathan's creative horizons widened with his travelling in Africa. A painter and sculptor, he experiments with mediums as well as styles. Today, he has built up a wonderful body of work which is rich with his passion for African life and landscape. Sanders stages exhibitions regularly not only in the UK but also abroad, and has received much love for his work in places such as South Africa too.
Capturing the essence of wildlife
The sheer beauty of the African animals which Jonathan often chooses to turn into art gives his pieces a deep and rich power. This can be seen not only in his painted work, but also in the sculptures, which we are lucky enough to be able to present in our gallery. Highly detailed and achingly attractive in their poise and precision, Jonathan Sanders sculpture is a true pleasure to behold.
Transported through art
Jonathan is transported back to Africa each time he takes to the artist's studio, so will you be able to get a sense of the fierce beauty of African wildlife when you gaze upon one of Jonathan Sanders' superb sculptures in our collection.
